Within my body of work I seek to express my connection between spirit and self; I draw inspiration from my personal experiences, the mysticism of our planet, and the mystery of it all. I paint with the intention to explore the intricate fabric of existence that threads the soul to the cosmos and the human to the soul.
Called to consider my truth, traumas, and spirituality my work has pushed me to overcome, find courage and accept my human experience helping to cultivate my inner peace. I believe the most powerful contribution to society is one's own inner work. As I take my own journey towards self discovery I strive to encourage viewers to do the same. I hope to inspire one to seek inner truth, self-acceptance, and healing as I wish this for myself. I believe this goal could bond us all together, exposing our tether to the infinite and challenge the illusion of separation. As I share my story of reflection, redemption, and self-awareness may you hear the whispers of spirit and feel the fire of resilience in your soul. |
Nina Louise (b. 1997) of British-African American descent, is a visual artist raised and currently residing in Denver, Colorado. Louise’s earliest inspirations were derived from her lucid dreams. As she grew older, extensive travel, and various trips with friends and family solidified her connection to earth pulling her closer to her spirituality. Experiences of exploration, self-identity, and spirit have been the foundation of her work thus far. Louise has refined her acrylic paintings through intuition, observation and mentorship opportunities as a self-taught artist.
Louise’s paintings transcribe coming of age and her place within the universe. Whimsical yet grounded, her figures and galaxies invite the viewer into the world of her visions and dreams. She utilizes sacred geometry and themes of self-awareness to allude to personal traumas and challenges. She transforms her deepest challenges into landscapes of healing, understanding, and resilience. Deeply inspired by the potency of love within the human experience, she strives to show vulnerability in her work so that others may be encouraged to do the same in their everyday lives.
Louise is inspired by artists such as Autumn Skye, Alex Grey, Hannah Yata, and Chris Dyer. She has studied under Amanda Sage throughout different courses in 2019-2023 in the Vitra Academy. Her work has been displayed in galleries throughout Denver such as Denver Art Society (2016-2019). She was the chosen artist in residence at the Van Gogh Immersive Gallery (2021-2022). Her work has been exhibited nationally, in galleries and in festivals. Louise aspires to continue refining her craft and continue her professional development as an artist.
